Managing to vision. Sometimes stakeholders lose site of the vision in deference to political or personal inclinations. EH keeps the program on track reminding stakeholders to “stay on vision.”

Each stakeholder should be comfortable communicating their thoughts. The role of EH is to ensure every voice is heard and everyone will be  encouraged to share.

Workforce development: Create pathways to training, trade certifications and immediate job opportunities.

Community hubs: Create cooling centers, disaster hubs, and places of connection in libraries, faith spaces, and community centers.

Emergency preparedness: Train neighbors in mutual aid, disaster response, and resource-sharing.

Strengthen networks: Build trust, connection, and collaboration across sectors (public, private, nonprofit).

Support local businesses: Invest in small businesses and cooperatives.

Prioritize frontline communities: Focus on those most affected by systemic disinvestment, air pollution, climate risks, or public health disparities.

Engage community voices: Involve residents early and often in planning. Include lived experience in decision-making.

Create climate-ready buildings: Retrofit housing for energy efficiency, ventilation, and temperature regulation. Develop climate resilience codes and standards.

Tackle pollution: Reduce air pollution which particularly impacts vulnerable populations.

Design healthy environments: Add green spaces, trees, safe sidewalks, and community gardens.
